My wife and I took the Salt Lake Express down the I-15 corridor to SLC.
We just found out our flight to NYC-Kennedy had been cancelled. We can catch a flight tomorrow at 4:50 to NYC, but our international flights will all have to be changed.
I told my wife if Turkish Air can get us sometime to Istanbul, I will rent a car for our own Turkish adventure. She didn’t laugh.
I suppose for now, Salt Lake City is a nice place to be stuck. 🙂
I’ve been stuck in the SLC airport before; once headed home from IBC for Christmas break and again (more recently) headed down to AZ for the wedding of my 2nd year room-mate. The first was a canceled flight that had me (scheduled) there till the next morning. Thankfully, I ended up being second-to-last for standby on the last flight out that night. The second stay was much shorter, though the airplane mechanics did make me a little late for rehearsal.
SLC is a nice airport to get stuck in, but I would not want to get stuck there without a laptop (as I did in both of my adventures).
Look forward to hearing about your Turkish adventure!
Scott, I am without a laptop on this trip. We are at the Ramada Inn near the airport (courtesy of a voucher). Their motto is to “rest, refresh, and relax.” I am trying to do just that.
I am waiting to see whether Turkish Air will be kind enough to move all the flight plan. And then somehow we will need to catch up with the group that we are suppose to hang out with among the vast 68 million.
