I’m happy today that we didn’t get picked up by the Trafik jandarma. We are making progress in our pilgrimage.
Today, we rode through the Tauras Mountains. Rugged. Rocky. Crags. Small alpine meadows. I had no idea the terrain that Paul walked through. I could spend weeks hiking along the ridges of these mountains.
Moving south from Konya (Iconium), we crossed the mountain range to the Mediterranean coast . . . soaking in Aspendos and Perge.
At Perge, John Mark left the brethren, Paul and Barnabas. I explored everything at this place, even bushwacking my way to the top of a cliff where the acropolis stood. It was all magnificent.
Tonight, we are staying at a beautiful motel in Antalya. Our fifth floor room contains a balcony that overlooks the northern Mediterranean Sea. Pretty romantic.
Here is one thing that I learned well today: Paul believed in HOME MISSIONS. He proclaimed Christ to his home area where he grew up as a child.
Todd,
I hope your taking a lot of pictures. I want to see the Mountains and places Paul and the team walked too!
Have a great time you two.
Sounds like you guys are having too much fun. Hannah and Josh are doing great. They wrote you an email at elonwood@juno.com. Swim a few laps in the Mediterranean for me. Ha ha.
We are bringing back Turkish Delight for the kids!
