One day, I see my comment on this Times and Season thread, the next day it is gone. Vanished in thin air.
I can see that some in the community there do not welcome or desire to listen to or hear me fully in regards to any of my heart conviction on the subject. Frustrating.
For all I know, my comment on Times has been condemned to Bloggernacle Tophet.
Hopefully, sometime in the future, I can rephrase my thoughts and try this again.
You’re a pretty mellow blogger, Todd — I can’t imagine what tripped the wire on your comment. I suppose sometimes mods get a little trigger-happy, especially on controversial issues. You’re certainly welcome to continue commenting at T&S.
I didn’t have my comment saved or I would post it right here. Maybe, T&S, could email it to you or place it back on my doorstep if they have the record.
My latest comment to them occured just after reading your post on “heroes”. I suggested they have a followup post on “What comprises the category of superhero?” This would help me understand the depth of praise to prophets.
I mentioned that my distrust for Joseph’s written trail of words is building, especially with my current studies of the Joseph Smith translation for both John 5 and Isaiah 29.
And I also tried to clarify a little bit on why I am not “bashing.” I do not understand why I am hammered on this issue.
Dave, maybe I am wrong on this, but here is my impression of blogs – the freedom to speak civilly and passionately with contra conviction is always more available on solo blogs than large group community blogs.
On the thoughts of “Praising the Man”, I will try to formulate my thoughts again for a post. And I doubt I will sound very mellow to some, friend.
Dave, have a good Sunday.
I think you might be right in your theory about big blogs being generally less tolerant for the simple reason that there are more moderators to torque-off.
But I would also note that the majority of the time that I’ve seen comments mysteriously disappear on a discussion, the main culprit was usually WordPress and its ilk, and not the moderators.
Pays to check first.
Seth, you could be right. Next time, I will ask. Thanks for the heads up.
