So how many temple marriages have been postponed that were scheduled in this first full week of February? At least a couple dozen?
Ladies, can you imagine having to postpone all your plans, communicate to all your guests, share with all your friends and family that already have plane tickets?
I am a pastor. And I am thinking tonight of all these soon-to-be brides in the midst of their circumstances.
I don’t understand what would have caused a delay. Was there a problem with the temple? open-house dates extended? fire? what? Seriously, I’m miles away and feeling a bit lost.
Brian, the Rexburg Temple Celebration was to be this Saturday and the dedication on Sunday.
Hinckley’s death has changed everything for the LDS town of Rexburg.
That is why they postponed everything to a week later.
And this has caused the town to completely reorient their schedule.

I wondered what they would do about this. It makes sense to postpone it, but it sure is going to make some people upset I’m sure.
My bet is that the newly ordained president of the Church will dedicate the building.
Todd, thanks that clears it up. What a difference 2000 miles makes! I wonder whether there were actually any weddings scheduled so soon after the original dedication date. Makes sense that there would not be, since there is a lot of cleaning that has to take place following an open house. Here’s hoping that’s the case.
