How important is the preaching of the Word?

Read pages 34-35 of The Deliberate Church (Crossway, 2005) as it pours down a full torrent of scripture upon the soul weary of religious programs offered up as the savior in America.  Meditate on these verses:  Matt. 4:4; John 1:1, 4, 14; Acts 19:20, 6:7, 12:20-24, 20:32; Rom. 1:16; I Cor. 1:18; Rom. 10:17; I Thess. 2:13; Heb. 4:12; James 1:18, 21; I Pet. 1:23, 25; and Ezek. 37:1-14.

Actually, as I am still thinking of our past Sunday morning worship text, please put together John 7:17 and Rom. 10:17 side by side.  Read the message of the two 17s. 

Aren’t these verses key for our faith and understanding among all the varieties of religion?

Remember the two 17s.  Give the Spirit some room, some more access to your thoughts, to work these ideas into your hearts.

The two 17s.  They are radical. Revolutionary for America.
