As you have noticed, I have been bouncing back and forth between the blogs “Idaho 4 His Glory” and “Heart Issues 4 LDS”.
Here is the quote of the day (not exact words) from the conservative evangelical general, John MacArthur, here in South Cal:
“You can’t say the Word [Scriptures] is infallible when you don’t believe the Bible is inerrant.”
“This is a serious defect in thinking.”
“You come to the position of infallibility through inerrancy.”
Last night at the Shepherd’s Conference 2008, Dr. John MacArthur ripped into the evangelical trend of engaging in conversations and seeking common ground with false teachers.
The campus is still smoking this morning over the issue.
Just look at Phil Johnson in his sunglasses (hilarious) and in the shade over at the “Scholar’s Desk” right now (8:00-9:00 am); he is tearing apart the fallacies of The Emerging Church.
I will be experiencing the Shepherd’s Conference for the first time.

I am studying Isaiah 45, which leads me to two questions:
1. Do LDS friends have a view like ancient King Cyrus concerning God’s status?
2. Was Cyrus the Son’s messiah? or the Father’s messiah?
I would like to pick up again on this series by interviewing another sister, Ruthie Mogan, in our church family.

Tony Jones is the national coordinator of Emergent Village. I just went through his colorful, multi-flavored new book, The New Christians: Dispatches from the Emergent Frontier (Jossey-Bass, 2008).
Tony, I confess. You did have me laughing on a few choice descriptions. I need a little comic relief in the midst of many of the other things I disagreed with in the book. I enjoyed this one-liner. (more…)
