Double Hitter for S.E. Idaho LDS

The front page of the Post Register (Idaho Falls newspaper) carries two headlines today, pertinent to LDS friends:

1.  “Dedicated to dedication”

Thomas S. Monson will be in Rexburg, Idaho for the dedication this Sunday.

And Wesley Haws and Alyssa Hill can hardly wait.  They will be the first couple to be married in the new 125th LDS temple.

2.  “Romney drops out of GOP race”

Congressman Mike Simpson, R-Idaho, says, “Unfortunately in politics, sometimes the best candidate doesn’t win.”

Melaleuca Inc. President Frank VanderSloot declares, “My attitude is that he did a lot of things right.  A year ago, who would have thought that Mitt Romney would come in second place?  He won over a lot of people who didn’t believe they would ever vote for a Mormon.”

Bonneville County Republican Chairman Damond Watkins shares, “Mitt understands economic issues.  He gets that better than anybody.  The best thing about Mitt Romney, in my opinion, is that he visited Idaho six times.”

Idaho Falls Mayor Jared Fuhriman tells us, “I was quite surprised.  But obviously the writing was on the wall.”

Senator Brent Hill, R-Rexburg, concludes, “I commend him for putting the good of the party and the good of the country ahead of his own ambitions.  I feel bad that it didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to turn out.”
