The book of Isaiah is an excellent text to discuss.

I took the time to reply to Shane since the topic he chose to discuss comes up so frequently, and since the issues involved are important for LDS Christians, Catholics, Evangelicals, Jews, scholars, and many other groups and organizations. Hopefully he doesn’t feel like I am attacking him personally.
I am pretty busy with school and probably won’t have much time in the future to reply in length, but I thought the issues need to be more fully clarified; also, I can probably post those same comments elsewhere in the future.
