These lyrics (and please listen to the song) described the old Todd Wood. 🙂
My own moralism couldn’t help me. I tried and tried and tried. But the gracious Gospel flowing through the Christ of Christmas sets me free.
I am beaming from ear to ear, friends.
Todd, are you saying you no longer struggle with an inclination to sin?
Jesus saved me from my good works.
Same question for you, Aaron.
Aaron: verily.
Greg: “sets” – let’s emphasize the present tense. Though I will never ever forget the glorious great exchange involved in my justification.
He saved and He continues to save me through His mighty Gospel.
But someday (it could be soon), when I see Jesus, it will be my greatest and glorious Christmas. His saving grace will shed all presence of stinkin’, nauseous sin in my life, including all those filthy (good) works, that I committed in such prideful audacity.
