[Jews at Berea] they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily (Acts 17:11)

Message Text: I Corinthians 12:8-11, “Be Jesus, empowered by the Spirit, ministering through the diversity of the gifts”
I. The lists of gifts: (1) I Corinthians 12:8-11, (2) I Corinthians 12:28-31, (3) Romans 12:6-8, (4) Ephesians 4:11, (5) I Peter 4:11
- These lists are not exhaustive.
- These lists do not put the most important at the top and the least important at the bottom.
- These lists eliminate self-glory.
II. Closer examination of the list of nine gifts in the Corinthian text
III. Closing exhortations
- Stir up your gift.
- Don’t soap box on your particular agenda – let it be “As He wills”.
- Exercise your gift to please God and not in order to seek the applause of others.
- Be faithful.
Through the Spirit’s giving and empowering, you are displaying the visible Priesthood, Kingship, and Prophetic ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ on this earth and in Idaho Falls. The community hears Jesus by what you say. They see Jesus by what you do. This week, may this city behold the grace and glory of Christ.
Conclusion: The Lord’s Table and “The Communion Hymn”
