  1. I think Romney is a man of faith. Maybe we should reread his speech on faith in America to understand his stance on religious discrimination.

One of the LDS articles of faith reads:

We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. (Articles of Faith 11)

  2. Todd,

I think you’re right. Generally speaking the LDS people have been generous and kind to others of different beliefs. As pointed out above, it is actually an article of our faith. While we have a long way to go, I’m sure Romney is much more likely to protect the religious rights of individuals than McCain.

  3. What about Huckabee? Isn’t he a baptist? If it’s in your “articles of faith” to be kind to those of other religions, why is it that my LDS neighbors, are so rude? When they don’t know me? It’s mostly the women who are so standoffish. My one neighbor won’t even say hi~ I’ve been here a year and 3 months now, and never have I said or done anything unkind? I’ve noticed that the LDS of the older generations are very kind… but those in 20’s and 30’s seem to only want to associate w/ those of their own faith?

  4. “Being a friend to religious people” is only one side of the religious liberty equation. The “freedom to go to the Christian church of your choice” is not exactly a freedom.

  5. a girl,

Could be they’re just shy people. Could be they’re too busy with their kids. Could be you just got a bad neighborhood. Who knows?
