Berean’s VBS – Water, Water, Everywhere (Day 2, also)

Most of our teachers in the younger grades at Berean Baptist Church covered “Catastrophe”, today, as well.

The Third C – CATASTROPHE

Devotional thoughts for teachers – God is the Sovereign Savior:

  1. Psalm 24:1 – “The earth is the LORD’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”
  2. Genesis 6:16 – “A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.”
  3. Genesis 7:16 – “And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.”
  4. John 10:9 – “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”
  5. Ephesians 2:1 – “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;”
  6. Romans 10:9 – “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
  7. Ephesians 2:8 – “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
  8. II Peter 3:8-9 – “But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.  The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
  9. Acts 4:10-12 – “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.  This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

 We pray in worship:

Sovereign Lord, thy will is supreme in heaven and earth, and all beings are creatures of thy power.  Thou art the Father of our spirits; thy inspiration gives us understanding, thy providence governs our lives.  But, O God, we are sinners in thy sight; thou hast judged us so, and if we deny it we make thee a liar.  Yet in Christ thou art reconciled to thy rebellious subjects; give us the ear of faith to hear him, the eye of faith to see him, the hand of faith to receive him, the appetite of faith to feed upon him; that we might find in him light, riches, honour, eternal life.  Today’s text and theme verse for the children:

Genesis 6-9, specifically Genesis 7:23

And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth:  and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark.
