The Lord birthed an idea in the heart of James Runcorn (facebook, twitter), the Connections Pastor at CrossPoint Community Church, to share in love next summer the good news of Jesus to Idaho Falls and the surrounding region through some kind of large venue. James is just a local guy with a big heart in loving God, his family, and fellow neighbors.

In talking to other pastors around town, so far representing twenty-two other local churches, they have shown support and encouragement to lift up together the name of Jesus. We are thankful. Pastor Patrick Jones of First Evangelical Lutheran Church actually tipped James off to the name title of “Vision 2020”.

Since initial conversations, things have progressed to a formal committee (Pastor James Runcorn, Pastor Patrick Murphy, Pastor Andrew Williams, Pastor Todd Wood, and Pastor Jacob Sonnenberg, and Travis Ricks) now meeting every other week in prayerful preparation for this gospel event.

We have set the date for “Vision 2020” to be on Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Sandy Downs Rodeo Grounds Arena. On that day, there will be vendors, fun booths for families, music groups, and a simple, gospel message by Pastor James Runcorn.

Here is our desire.  We hope that every man, woman, and child in eastern Idaho will be able to taste God’s goodness and love, seeing Jesus clearly. 

So this is what we first ask of you all: save the date on your calendar and then spread the word.
