Bloggernacle has begun a sizzling summer

1.  Jared gave a summary of the 30th anniversary priesthood commemoration.

2.  Considering David’s post, how beneficial is it for evangelicals to dialogue with BYU religion professors to obtain authoritative answers? (smiling)

3.  TT questions the LDS Newsroom with his post, Experience or Doctrine.

4.  Allen’s skirmish with young Aaron – it centers around the weekend commemoration at the Tabernacle.

5.  Steven promotes a Mormon Darwinism, which introduces our local church’s 6th article of faith as a stark, contrasted belief.  Let me post it next.

6.  And Aquinas is hungering for ecumenical healing, noting his joy over the Greg & Bob Conversation.

Building Truss(t) – our storm in S.E. Idaho

Before we started our church building project, I told God to allow whatever circumstances, in order to build our trust in Him, the One who is all love and all powerful. I am sure He is more interested in building us than the building of sticks.

Today, at 2:30 p.m., the strong eastern Idaho wind knocked down every one of our 51 trusses (60′ span). Fourteen tons, worth around $14,000.00, are destroyed.

Tonight, I cried. I cried with Bernard, the one-armed brother, who lifted up to me with a 2×4 many of my spacers. I cried in talking with all of our team this evening. And around 10:00 p.m., I cried and hugged Leah, one of the sisters in our church family, who used a guide rope to direct many of our trusses.

Some trust in chariots. Some trust in horses. Some trust in the mighty. Some trust in the powerful.

We are weak. We are foolish. We are simple-minded. Our only hope to get us through all this is the magnificent Lord of glory.

I bow my knee tonight and bless the Lord.

Splinters and all.

Thanks for letting me share.

Does God know what to do with the broken? I am trusting Him to see what He will do in the days ahead.

Berean’s Fifth Article of Faith – The Devil

And in continuing this particular series . . .

We believe that Satan was once holy and enjoyed heavenly honors; but through pride and ambition to be as the Almighty, fell and drew after him a host of angels; that he is now the malignant prince of the power of the air, and the unholy god of this world.  We hold him to be man’s great tempter, the enemy of God and His Christ, the accuser of the saints, the author of all false religions, the chief power of the present apostasy, the lord of the anti-Christ, and the author of all the power of darkness – destined however to final defeat at the hand of God’s Son, and to the judgment of an eternal justice in hell, a place prepared for him and his angels. Compassionate Boldness Conference

Is anyone going to blog the sessions of this new conference?  LDS or evangelical?  Gregory?  Dan Peterson (Didn’t he say he had the time for this? 🙂  AaronAndy or anythingbutlukewarm?  I am interested to hear what will be said.  I have never met any of these speakers, except very briefly, Bill.

(My wife and I are renewing our wedding vows just for the sake of a joyous celebration of our marriage in the Lord.  The service will be at the church building in Ammon, Friday night, May 30th at 6:30 p.m.  You are all invited.  My four kids are excited.  And Pastor Joe Lacy from Rexburg, Idaho will be officiating and sharing a little from the Word.)
