Listen Up Religious Apostates!
- You use to love God.
- You have forgotten God.
- You now have forsaken God for vanity.
- You lust after the desires of your own heart.
- You now teach the wicked how to be even more evil.
(Isn’t this what Yahweh is saying through the mouth of Jeremiah in chapter 2?)

Here’s the school’s recent statement.
I highly respect the administration of my alma mater for writing this.

Elder Richard G. Maynes on Gospel and Korihor
He shared these words last week on the Gospel for the BYU-I devotional:
If you are asking yourself where to begin, I would suggest using the Church’s guide to missionary service, entitled Preach My Gospel. This inspired guide is a wonderful personal scripture study plan as well as a missionary guide. Chapter 3 of Preach My Gospel contains five lessons, “The Message of the Restoration,” “The Plan of Salvation,” “The Gospel of Jesus Christ,” “The Commandments,” and finally “Laws and Ordinances.” These five lessons contain a total of 42 basic gospel principles. Thirty-five of these principles need to be taught to investigators before they are eligible for baptism. The investigators not only need to understand the principles, but they also need to live them prior to baptism. It seems it would be appropriate for us as members to understand these same basic gospel principles and the corresponding scriptures that support them. The gospel principles and associated scriptures found in chapter 3 of Preach My Gospel would make a wonderful personal study plan.
Wow. Thirty-five principles? What are they again?
And listen to his definition of the Korihors in today’s culture:
So who are the Korihors of today? I submit that they are anyone or anything that would entice you to stray from the straight and narrow path that leads to eternal life.
Andrew has me thinking of Micaiah
We named our youngest son after this prophet – Micaiah Todd Wood.
And make sure you check out the A.W. Tozer quote on Andrew’s blog.
LDS old fashioned girl could not have posted a better hymn
Meditate this week on the excellent word, the omnipotent hand, and the all sufficient grace of the Lord Jesus Christ in this eloquent hymn.
Jessica has me thinking of Jeremiah
I started a church family study in Jeremiah. On Wednesday nights, we will be there for the next year.
My weekly heart cries from Idaho, panting and provoking Jeremiads, will be posted on www.Idaho4HisGlory.org.
Post election blues?
What do you do with post election blues?
1. Read Mark’s short post.
2. Read Kevin’s article.
3. For my LDS friends, listen to Eclipse’s rendition of “Be Still My Soul.” I just heard this song on Sunday’s BYUI radio. The music is fantastic. The words are incredible therapy as you think of an all sovereign God.
4. Barack and Michelle married in 1992 – same year as Kristie and me. They have two daughters – so do we. My two precious girls, Hannah and Mariah, will be praying and hopefully writing notes to their two girls, Malia (age 10) and Sasha (age 7).
Sodomites and the House of the Lord
Tell me what you think about this translation in the KJV Bible:
And he brake down the houses of the sodomites, that were by the house of the LORD, where the women wove hangings for the grove (II Kings 23:7).
