Grace & Glory Sunday – “Atonement Through Christ!”

Greetings,

We would like to take a moment and invite you to our upcoming Grace & Glory Sunday Service on June 5th.  The overriding topic is the grace and glory of Jesus Christ.  He is truly incomparable to anyone else.  His grace is amazing.  His glory is unrivaled.  The particular theme for the worship service will be “Atonement Through Christ!!”  This could spark some questions in people’s minds.  What does atonement mean?  Who first penned that English word?  How is atonement illustrated?  Why are some high-profile speakers in America antagonistic to this theme?  And what does the atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ mean for you personally?

All the music, prayers, Bible teaching, and preaching will revolve around this central topic of the gospel.  It is our desire that you find Christ, learn Christ, love Christ, and live Christ.  Please come.  We would be honored by your visit.  The main service begins at 10:45 am.

looking forward to meeting you,

JUDGMENT DAY – MAY 21, 2011

In the Wal-Mart parking lot about a mile from our church, two RVs sit at the front entrance.  The entire sides of both RVs carry the message – JUDGMENT DAY – MAY 21, 2011.  I saw four individuals in t-shirts and jackets with the same logo.

One older man gave me three pamphlets before I walked into Wal-Mart about an hour ago:

  1. THE END OF THE WORLD IS ALMOST HERE!  HOLY GOD WILL BRING JUDGEMENT DAY ON MAY 21, 2011
  2. GOD GIVES ANOTHER INFALLIBLE PROOF THAT ASSURES THE RAPTURE WILL OCCUR MAY 21, 2011
  3. NO MAN KNOWS THE DAY OR THE HOUR?

Hey readers, I am ready for Jesus to return today.

Annual Stars and Stripes Stampede Auction

I attended this dinner last night at Calvary Chapel in Idaho Falls.  Every year the church hosts this fundraiser for the Calvary Chapel Christian School.

  • I saw team members of the Boise State Girls Basketball Team in the front entryway.  Almost all of them were as tall as me (or taller).
  • Jennell Faulkner did a nice job leading the children’s singing.  I always love listening to my girl, Mariah, sing.  And my daughter had the basketball players autograph her costume bandana.
  • Sandy Bird did a nice job decorating.
  • Coach Scotty’s Christianity is contagious.
  • The food was good:  salad, chicken, baked potatoes, and dessert.  The students did a nice job serving.
  • I left after the meal.  So I missed the auction.  I heard that Jennell did a fine job tricking everybody in a game of “Simon says”.
  • My daughter shared with me that the autographed BSU football went for around $1000.
  • And I was told the Italian vacation went for approximately $6500.  Nice.
  • I hope it was all a big success for the school.
